Last weekend there seemed to be problems regarding the issuance of visas for Garden City Panthers. Based on this signal, we started looking for a possible replacement if the Nigerians unexpectedly have to drop out. Shortly after our call, the Danish Vejle Boldklub responded, if necessary, to participate. However, when it became clear yesterday that the visa issues had been resolved, we had to decide to thank Vejle Boldklub for their spontaneous gesture. However, just before we wanted to do this, an extremely unexpected and inexplicable message came from Brussels that Union Saint-Gilloise is canceling their participation. The club’s CEO suddenly finds the (travel) costs to be incurred irresponsible and instructs the vice-chairman of the Academy to inform us that Union is canceling its participation.
Immediately contacted Vejle Boldklub and the Danes immediately announced that they were very keen to fill the gap that had arisen.
Naturally, we are extremely happy with this and we are extremely grateful to Vejle Boldklub, especially to Steen Thychosen, head of the Academy.
