The final between De Graafschap and Silkeborg IF ended with a draw of 0-0. When this score was on the scoreboard after extra time, penalties had to decide the outcome. Silkeborg IF was the happiest and can call itself the winner of the PLUS Stam Karel Stegeman Tournament 2024.
After being eliminated on penalties by De Graafschap in the semi-finals, Club Atlético Sarmiento also lost the penalty shootout in the battle for 3rd and 4th place against AC Horsens.
Vejle BK, which was approached for participation four days before the tournament, took 5th place by beating Kalmar FF 1-0.
Halmstads BK, labeled in advance as one of the favorites, had to let Oud-Heverlee Leuven go ahead in the match for 7th and 8th place. The team from Leuven won 2-1
The battle for 9th and 10th place was a private chat between the two Rotterdam participants. Excelsior relegated Sparta to 10th place with a 3-1 victory.
Garden City Panthers FC did not have many problems with VV Ruurlo for 11th and 12th place. The Nigerians won 6-0.
The fair-play cup, the Henk Wendt Trophy, was won by VV Ruurlo. Oliver Bjerregaard from AC Horsens was chosen as the best goalkeeper and Oliver Amby from Vejle Boldklub as the best player.
Top scorers were Sebastian Murru (Oud-Heverlee Leuven) and Precious Tenebe from Garden City Panthers, who both scored 5 times.
