At the end of the second day of competition, Silkeborg IF and Club Atlético Sarmiento came out on top in the Sturris Group, meaning they will compete in the cross-finals tomorrow against the numbers one and two of the Brok Interieurbouw Group, AC Horsens and De Graafschap . Two Scandinavian teams, a team from South America and the regional pride from Doetinchem will decide tomorrow who can call themselves the winner of the 38th edition of the PLUS Stam Karel Stegeman Tournament.
After a bad start in their group on the first match day, two losses, De Graafschap recovered today with three wins and settled with 9 points behind AC Horsens, which became group winner with 11 points. Halmstads and Oud-Heverlee Leuven will play tomorrow in the cross-finals for places 5 and 6 and Sparta Rotterdam and Garden City Panthers will play for places 9 to 12.
Club Atlético Sarmiento took first place in their group with 12 points by winning their last match against Excelsior, followed by Silkeborg IF, which came second with 10 points. Kalmar FF and Vejle Boldklub will battle it out tomorrow for places 5 to 8 and Excelsior and Ruurlo will compete for the remaining places.
