Boni was founded in 1972 by Mr. Klaassen and was originally a real family business. The name Boni comes from the word bonus which is derived from the Latin word ‘Bonie’, which means ‘of the good’.
The first store already had a real discount look. The store was simply furnished with wooden racks and had a very affordable, but wide range. It was clear from the first moment; Boni is the cheapest supermarket. This turned out to be a great success!
Boni is now a supermarket company that operates 51 branches. In July of last year, Boni also opened a branch in Ruurlo at Leeuwerikstraat 2, tel. 0573-451688, with four special facilities, namely a flower department, a traditional butcher’s shop, a liquor store and free parking.
Boni is group sponsor during this KST.
